“Just Take the Next Best Step”

“Don’t just do something, stand there!”

“Don’t just stand there, do something!”

Which one is it? Yes, that’s right, both. The right answer is all about timing.

Taking a step of faith isn’t a blind leap but a reasoned choice. We aren’t called to trust God for no reason. The reason is He’s God :-) …

Today’s message finds is finding God in the call to do something. Earlier in the story it was stand still. Now it’s move forward. Both have their place. When the squeeze is on, there comes the time to add action to your faith to initiate movement to begin building momentum to move forward so you don’t stay stuck.

Taking the Next Logical Step Involves …

1. knowing & believing God knows what He’s going to do.

Faith, love & trust are each both nouns & verbs.

Exodus 14:15 2 Corinthians 5:7 Hebrews 11:1

2. saying yes with not just our lips, but our legs … arms, hands, & feet too.

Again & again & again & again, what you believe determines how you behave.

Acts 10:1-48 (especially v25a) / Psalm 119:105

Making It Real

1] Do you believe this (think Jesus with Martha right before Lazarus was raised)?

2] Are you clear that it’s not just your words but your actions that say yes or no?

Action Step

Write out & say this 10 times: “When you don’t know what to do next, cast out fear & seek light for the next step. Trust God for guidance in small increments; & if you can’t see what lies dimly in the distance, do what lies clearly at hand.”
